VC is telling us what to do but he’s dead wrong. Should I ignore him?

Our startup is coming against its second pivot. The VC is telling us to primarily market by posting our RSS feed onto all of these directory sites. We have tried this in the past with very little traction for the buttload of work put into it. For some reason, this guy insists that RSS feeds are the future. I know his thinking is dated (his startup sold in the 90’s) but he is a very senior partner at his firm (Your jaw would drop if I could reveal the name). I’m thinking of just simply ignoring him and doing something completely different. Does anyone have any experience doing this and if so how they got away with it?

He's not your boss, he's an investor. Give him polite replies, and run your company like you think you should.

Compile the data and make your case firmly and politely. Sometimes investors are trying to live their glory days vicariously through you. (and might meddle more than they should). If he's a founder (even if long time ago), he'll understand that he needs to give the driver some space (and to stop grabbing the wheel from the back).

Terrible troll (made it obvious with the pseudo namedrop, just trying to cause drama on Secret or valleywag)
