Finally got a chance to watch Silicon Valley last night. I’ve never met Peter Thiel, but from what I’ve learned about him, it seems like their “Peter” is oddly similar. Is this a shot at him?

Yes it is and it's not supposed to be a hidden easter egg or anything. They make it pretty obvious in the show.
