Depends on the why?

a) Do you not believe anymore? Say, sorry I don't believe anymore and you can have my stock.

b) Can you not afford anymore more Ramon? Say, I'm sorry, I have run out of money and I need to eat. What do you think would be an equitable amount of stock for me to keep and I'll help when ever I can.

c) Did you get a better job. Say sorry I don't believe anymore and you can have my stock.

How to resign as a co-founder

1. Never ever tell anyone what you think of them. They will tell others what they think of you.

2. When resigning, provide a rock-solid cover reason that is devoid of emotion. This means, say "I am leaving because the pay is not enough and I can't support my family" instead of "You have turned into a giant asshole and I am sick of your shit." This is ESPECIALLY true if your circle of common friends is very large.

3. Don't badmouth your cofounder or tell the real reason for leaving to anyone, ever. Forgive but don't forget. You are wiser for the experience.
