If you're just meeting to meet people, don't expect to meet interesting people.

Check out the local startup digest and meetups. You won't meet the most interesting people but it will be a start.

I think you should contact investors and set up meetings prior to heading out there. That's the best use of your time. Networking with the bruh's can only get you so far.
