We’re exploring avenues of allowing screened homeless people the opportunity of working for our startup after hitting certain sales performance metrics through a referral program we’re deploying.
Has anyone ever heard of a profitable tech startup that employs the HOMELESS?

Many homeless people are homeless not because of a lack of opportunity. There's a lot that goes on that leads to homelessness. But if you have dealt with homeless people and have an understanding on how to help them, then hats off to you.
I'm speechless.
OP for thinking through ways to achieve this and I hope you succeed in creating this opportunity.
I would suggest partnership or consulting with homeless outreach services.
There can be a lot of complexity involved in homeless circumstances, it's a challenge to navigate all of it and have a positive impact.
I've had two periods of being homeless in the last 18 months, so not long term and have not been in shelters, or on the street, but to look at me hustling on my startup you wouldn't have known it.
While not a tech startup, the contributor (print paper) here in Nashville turns 1-2M annually by my last count. Not shabby, and gives homeless people something to do. Unfortunately, it also has enabled lazy non-homeless to become well-paid bums.
