Does anyone actually believe in Content Marketing as an effective marketing strategy?

100% yes. Not only is it a great way to build a prospect list (not including retargeting possibilities), but when syndicated, it can be one of the best ways to reach a very targeted potential customer without spending a dime on reach. And, that's not the half of it. The SEO value can be worth it alone, not to mention the built in virality.

My advice: If you're not seeing value from content, then find someone that can help you do it right. Or, better yet, learn from others who have built their business on their content (Buffer, When I Work ... even Whole Foods, etc.) Create decent content that's customer-driven and spend 80% of your time marketing it.

Damn near 70% of our monthly sales come from content and distribution. Make that shit happen, son.

Our SEO has been driven by content marketing. This has taken our cost per lead from $100 to $2. So, yes.

It's the most bang for your buck. It's really the best way to reach customers. Give that info away for free, plug your product in the process, gain trust, build relationships, convince them you're the solution to their problems and then sell sell sell. I have more people in content than any other department.

If you have a niche product, there's no other way to market.
