I have been working on starting my own data analytics business in the last few months. I have the experience, the certifications, and some good contacts and potential clients, but nothing else so far.
I have been offered a temporary position (for a year, at best) working at a big company as an outsourced employee, so I would be directly hired by a temp agency. The pay is decent, but the work is more clerical/administrative than related to my background. It is also in a different country, so if I take it I would be leaving my spouse for that entire year and I would go live with my elderly parents. It also entails weird working hours and a long commute because the plant is located in the middle of nowhere.
I do not need to work to support our household. It is more about my own desire to do something professionally. Ultimately, I want to be able to set my own hours and do what I really enjoy, but forgoing an easy job with decent pay that just fell into my lap seems like a lousy option. Any thoughts?
