We are seriously considering to pivot our business into a porn-related vertical. I’m scared this will ruin my reputation as an entrepreneur, but my team is convinced and it seems we are are heading that way.

Porn sometimes is on the cutting edge of technology. I think you can spin the tech vs the content component - maybe?!

Sometimes? They're ALWAYS on the bleeding edge.

There is a lot of money in porn, but yes people won't take you seriously if you've been involved in a porn business. Would you take a female applicant seriously if you found out that she did porn?

It's not like I'm the actor in the movies... I'm just in distribution. And yeah, I wouldn't care if a woman (or guy) I hired (on a regular business, not this one of course) did porn at some point. Although I would probably not hire her if she included it into her resume, it would be a pretty stupid move.

People who distribute it are also viewed in a negative light. It's not like you can brag to people at a social gathering that you managed to sell x amount of porn to people all over the world.

Sex sells.

Besides, any porn company has a vague, generic-sounding name on paper behind their web site.

So this is what they meant when they said the online video industry would be huge.

"Niche online video content delivery" sounds like you're pretty good at engineering to me. It also sounds like you sell amateur porn video, but I'll just assume that means you're really good at building resilient, scalable networks.

Also, that you have a good coke/meth connect, which is another plus.

Experiences: Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence

Case: Implemented a "jizz-erator" intellegent agent that projects semen across film in the most realistic fashion

We did this and ran a successful mobile video delivery service for years, got burned in the end from economic collapse in various countries. Watch out for "partners" and pay people on-time and with good reports. if you are licensing content be careful, most of the people in the business are scum, but not all... payments are late and reports are non-existent.

We had a company profile that was about our video platform (got some normal content from a partner we licensed movies to -- they were cool and gave us a front company) then we ran the adult business on the sly. That partner did the same thing, big brand name and a small quite team doing adult and making most of the revenue.

Don't pay MG's or upfronts, try to buy out rights for your service and avoid revenue sharing. Try not to get involved with the models, it's fun but expensive ;D
