Visiting Product Hunt is a boring chore. I usually regret visiting, and recoil at the insular, unfocused and elitist community there.

I totally agree. I find it to be one of the most boring and overhyped "products" of the Valley. Disclosure: I was an early subscriber to their email list of unseen start-ups; I thought it was a great idea. Now it sucks. When you see VC's gushing about how one of their portfolio companies "made it" onto Product Hunt, you know it's time to bail.

99% of the shit on ProductHunt is made by wanna-be entrepreneur hipsters.

Agree. The only people who go to that shitty site are shitty people wanting desperately to showoff their stupid products to their fellow wannabe entrepreneurs.

It's a cesspool of startup hipsters wasting their lives on useless products.

All your comments sound pretty mean..There's nothing particularly wrong with it..I guess it's a somewhat closed off process to get posted/featured on there, but that's just the decision they've made to make the community less spammy..Lots of useless products, sure, but I bet less than elsewhere where it's free for all.

You have to actually email them to get your profile deleted. I just got a reply promising they would, but my profile is still active.
