Launched my site last month and had certain expectations that are nowhere to being met. Maybe my expectations were too high or maybe my product sucks. I hope it’s the former.

Your expectations were probably too high. You have to look at it as a process of experimentation; see what works and what doesn't and use that to keep growing. You can't expect to have millions of signups within the first month, or else you'll have lots of disappointment.
