Sound advice!

Word. But make sure you explain it beforehand: I've had friends be upset at what they perceived to a snobbing of them/their skills.

And with family ?

Avoid, avoid, AVOID! You've got only 1 family, don't risk fv¢king up relationships and creating bitterness to last a lifetime.

It can be done right if both parties discuss and clearly document how all aspects (roles, risks, contigency plans, delineation of personal vs biz, etc) would be addressed beforehand. But practically nobody does this. The cases that work out are the minority that were just lucky that issue X/Y/Z did not test their partnerships, therefore, never had to find out how they would have been impacted.

Very true. Never sleep with a colleague. Never go into business with a friend.
