Dear founders dreaming of VC funding you are misguided. You want freedom and impact. VC funding will enslave and cripple you. Do not fall prey to them. No, not even the ones you call 'top tier'. They are not aligned with you, by default.

Check out the book "Why S.O.B.'s Succeed and Nice Guys Fail in Small Business". There is a whole chapter on why VC funding is the worst and last resort of anyone seeking capital.

VCs have the time and resources to push their agenda in conferences and the media. They want people to believe it's cool and the only way to succeed.
