Your career won't go up in a straight line. Taking a job as a software engineer or as an engineering lead is fine. You will still learn a lot and when the time is right you can jump into a new startup.

Tech lead or architects don't code all the time. Or you can work as a prod manager meeting with stakeholders and deciding what goes into the product.

Sales Engineers need to be product experts and be able to pitch. Could be a good transition job for you, and with your CTO experience, you could possibly get a Director or above level job where you lead a team, if that's of interest.

Plenty of companies will strongly value your entrepreneurial experience!

Eat some humble pie, and go get a senior engineer job or lead engineer job. What matters is how many direct or indirect reports you had in your organization.

Forget about the sales experience, it will be a distraction during hiring (you will be hired by technical people most likely)

Once you are in, you can see if the skills you have acquired will help your career.

Good luck!

A nice middle ground could be to consult. If you can sell yourself well enough to nab a good client or two, you'll get to be both technical and business focused for a while. It's a good gig for in-between things.
