At the airport, heading on a sales trip for my own company and I can’t help but smile. Finally decided to stop talking about ideas and actually implement one. That was three years ago and it’s still amazing what that decision has afforded me.

Good for you! I had the same issue; I would talk and dream but I was too afraid to act because I was too afraid of failing. It's difficult to actually try to do things but it's the only way that your dreams will become a reality. Good luck to you on your journey!

OP here: Thank you. Can't tell you how many conversations I had had about what I wanted to start. One day, I decided I was sick and tired of talking. I had an idea that kept me up at night and decided that I had to do anything it took to make it happen. I suppose it's similar to someone waking up and finally deciding they were going to quit drinking or smoking. I had my moment of clarity and that was it.

I'm the guy you're responding to. There's actually a lot of research to support the notion that talking about your goals and dreams makes them less likely to happen, because doing so gives us a false sense of accomlishment. So, that's why many people never get out of that loop of having goals and dreams that they share with others but never acting on them.

Take a look at this if you haven't already:

"Announcing your plans to others satisfies your self-identity just enough that you're less motivated to do the hard work needed."

Congratulations! Great work.

Tell us more about your company: Market? Profitable?

OP here. We are indeed profitable, seven employees. We're in the crowdsourcing space. At the time of our launch, there were very few players, now it's crowded (pun intended). Thank you for the kind words. Sometimes the little things hit me and reminds me how lucky I am to be doing things on my own terms.
